Jim Barry is managing Director of AFS Ltd, has been serving his clients for 21 years and is a Qualified Financial Advisor, QFA. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning from UCD which has led to the Industry designation Certified Financial Planner, CFP®.
Jim also believes in giving back to his community and industry. He served on the Board of Bishopstown Credit Union for a number of years and was Board Chairperson for 2 years. He served on the Board of LIA Ireland for seven years and was President in 2009. LIA is an Educational Body of over 10,000 members in the Financial Sector. Jim also served as an International Committee member of MDRT. He was the opening speaker at the 2005 International Convention in New Orleans attended by over 9,000 delegates.
Jim is happily married to Anne, his fellow AFS director and they have 4 children.
Anne is a Director of AFS Ltd. She is the AFS Compliance Officer ensuring that the Business complies with all regulatory requirements including complying with the Consumer Protection Code, Minimum Competency Requirements and Data Regulations. She is also AFS Ltd Practice Manager ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of service to you.
Anne holds the Industry Designations APA (Retirement Planning, Savings and Investments, Loans and Mortgages, and Protection).
She has 20 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry having worked with AIB Bank, Friends First (now Ulster Bank) and Scottish Provident prior to joining AFS.
Prior to joining the Financial Services Industry, Colette had a very successful career in the retail sector. For many years she held the Franchise for the retail newsagents at Cork University Hospital. 16 years ago Colette decided on a career change and joined Canada Life as a Financial Advisor where she again had a successful career. In 2006 she joined AFS Ltd and has become an integral part of the Financial Advisory Team delivering a first class service to our clients.
During Colette’s time at AFS she has achieved the Industry Designation Qualified Financial Advisor, QFA, and is embarking on a further study programme aimed at achieving the Industry Designation RPA (Retirement Planning Advisor).
Office & Business Administrator
Norma has been with AFS Ltd for 8 years. She is the office and new business administrator. Norma role involves the processing of all new business applications, liaising with both our clients and product providers to insure the speedy and efficient processing of all new business and customer requests.
Norma has a long career in Financial Services having previously worked with the Royal and Royal Sun Alliances Insurance Companies for 15 years.
